sage green tiered skirt

Pattern: McCall's 5109

Fabric: sage green cotton(?) gauze.

Construction Notes: This skirt has three tiers which I had to shorten slightly to fit everything onto the length of fabric I had. I also opted not to use a drawstring and just used 1" elastic at the waist. I finished all the raw edges by serging.

Miscellaneous Ramblings: This was an extremely quick project (for me) -- I cut it out one evening and sewed it up in a few hours the next day (all that gathering is rather time-consuming and tedious, but hey!). I made this from a length of fabric given to me by my friend Susan -- I used just about every square inch of fabric, but I made it all fit!! This is a great casual summer skirt, and I like the longer length. There's nothing quite like the feeling of a skirt swishing around your ankles. :)
