Regency waistcoat
Pattern(s): Men's 1812 Waistcoat Pattern from Rocking Horse Farm
Fabric: paisley polyester brocade
Construction Notes: A simple vest with an attached collar and lining -- super easy if you're familiar with vest construction (I've made about four vests before, so this went together in under a day).
Miscellaneous Ramblings: My brother Nathan told me that he'd wear a costume to our Christmas Fezziwig Ball if I'd make him one, but I didn't have a lot of time. Things all came together, however! I was able to find a decent-looking brocade at Jo-Ann's (believe it or not, the only non-Chinese brocade they had in stock was this masculine paisley) and the pattern arrived in time for me to make it up for him. We rented a tailcoat and shirt from a local costume shop, and I made his cravat out of a length of voile left over from my dress (using my rolled hem foot to finish the edges). He looks dashing, does he not? :)
