"Piccadilly" skirt
Pattern: Simplicity 3841
Fabric: 100% floral cotton from Robert Kaufman's "Piccadilly" line
Construction Notes: The skirt has a total of six gores -- one large center gore and two smaller side ones (in both front and back). It has soft pleats all the way around.
Miscellaneous Ramblings: This is a quick and relatively easy skirt pattern. The fabric is brighter and busier than I would normally choose, but I'm so glad I did, because I love this skirt! One warning about this pattern -- I find the ease to run large again (seems to be a recurring problem with modern patterns... I wish I had the courage to just cut my patterns two sizes too small!!). It is supposed to sit about one inch below the waist... well, mine sits more like 3 or 4 inches below the waist! So be forewarned, if you ever attempt to make it yourself.
