Mom in her Mother's Day apron

Mother's Day Apron

Pattern: Butterick 6567, view A

Fabric: floral cotton and pale yellow cotton for the bias trim

Construction Notes: I had a little trouble understanding the directions about the waistband, so I probably ended up doing more handstitching that I needed to. However, everything worked out fine in the end!

Miscellaneous Ramblings: I made this as a surprise for my mother on Mother's Day, 2006. After I bought the pattern at a 99-cent pattern sale, my mom commented that she liked view A, so I later sneaked around and bought some pretty floral fabric at the local quilting shop. It was a little tricky to get this done without her knowing, but it was a surprise (despite my paranoia that she knew what I was up to!!). I love the insert at the bottom of the apron, and the gathering at the top of the bodice. I think Mom likes it too! :)
