brown houndstooth vest and pencil skirt
Pattern: McCall's 2088 for the skirt; I'm not sure about the vest but I'm sure it's out of print
Fabric: brown houndstooth tweed (vest) and brown gabardine (skirt)
Construction Notes: The skirt was lengthened and the slit moved from the side to the back
Miscellaneous Ramblings: My mom made the vest as a surprise gift for Epiphany 2003, after I showed her one like it in a magazine. I have an obsession with tweed so I love this vest. In early 2005 I requested that she make a brown pencil skirt I could wear with it, since it wasn't getting much use by itself (this was before I was much of a seamstress).
The photos are of my friend Emily and I goofing off before going out to eat one evening. She has been living with my family (during the school year) since 2004, as she is completing a degree in piano pedagogy at the college down the street from us.
