black sheath dress Pattern(s): Butterick 6582 Fabric: black linen/rayon blend with off-white embroidery Construction Notes: This dress is really pretty simple, except for the gathers at the shoulders in the front, and the surplice neckline (which unfortunately you cannot see very well in the photos because of the dark fabric I chose... see the line drawings on the pattern link for details). Miscellaneous Ramblings: On Friday, I decided I would sew a new dress for church on Sunday. :) Soooo, on Saturday afternoon, I went out to Wal-Mart and bought this fabric. Unforeseen circumstances prevented me from getting started on the project until about 8 PM. We will draw the curtain of charity over my bedtime that day (hint: it was AM). But, I finished it and got to wear it the next day! :) back
